1947 – Philadelphia Warriors’ Howie Dellmar sets NBA record for most consecutive missed shots in a game, going 0 for 15 in a loss to the New York Knicks.
1949 – Steve Van Buren of the Philadelphia Eagles becomes the 2nd NFL player ever to rush over 200 yards in a game. The Eagles beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17.
1960 – In his 938th NHL game, Gordie Howe scores his 1,000th point with an assist for the Detroit Red Wings.
1965 – Gordie Howe scores his 600th goal, just the 4th player in history to do so, in a 3-2 loss to the Montreal Canadians.
1966 – Washington Redskins set an NFL regular-season record for most points in a single game, beating the New York Giants 72-41. There was a total of 16 touchdowns between the two teams.
1980 – Chicago Bears kick returner Dave Williams returns a overtime-opening kickoff 95 yards to defeat the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving day.
1994 – Joe Montana, with the Kansas City Chiefs, becomes the 5th quarterback to surpass 40,000 passing yards in a 10-9 loss at Seattle.
