Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee and Candlestick Chronicles Podcast joined Stiles & Watkins Tuesday to talk about the NFL trade deadline, the 49ers’ recent woes, and how San Francisco can bounce back.

The Red & Gold are in the midst of a three-game losing streak. With a Bye coming at an opportune time, Kyle Shanahan and company will have extra time to look inward and determine what’s been holding the team back recently. Before mid-December, the 49ers face off against the Seattle Seahawks twice and travel to Philadelphia for an NFC Championship rematch with the Eagles.

“Everybody in the NFL has a tough schedule, everybody plays 17 games, everybody deals with injuries. So it’s really just going to be about resiliency. Like how resilient is this group? And I think in the past few years, you look at their starts, I think they were 3-4 last year and 3-5 the year before and they’ve made it to the NFC Championship in each of those seasons, so this team is resilient and it’s proven they can bounce back,” Biderman said. “But a three-game losing streak to teams that they should have beaten or that they considered themselves better than is a little alarming at this point.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • Last-minute NFL trade deadline rumors
  • Should the 49ers focus more on what they’re good at or patch holes?
  • How much blame should Steve Wilks be getting?
