Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee and Candlestick Chronicles Podcast joined Stiles & Watkins on Tuesday to talk about the 49ers big win Sunday, how their defense stacks up against previous years, and more.

Currently, the 49ers defense ranks in the top five of multiple categories, including opposing points allowed (15.9), opposing rushing yards per game (83.1), and takeaways per game (1.9).

“Before they added Chase Young, there was an interesting conversation to be had comparing this defensive line with Javon Hargrave and a better version of Nick Bosa to that 2019 unit, and then you add Chase Young, a former number two overall pick who’s super talented,” Biderman said. “Just given the overall talent of this defensive line, I think you can make a pretty strong case that this group is better than the 2019 defensive line and that was the best defensive line in the league and it wasn’t particularly close.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • How Sunday’s win helped the team get its “swagger” back.
  • Thoughts on the Sacramento Kings’ win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
  • Keegan Murray getting the tough assignments on defense.
