The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens have a short, yet tense, history to say the least. And thanks to Marlon Humphrey, that hostility probably isn’t letting up anytime soon.

The Ravens’ cornerback was recently asked about his team’s upcoming clash with the 49ers on Christmas night. Asked if he respects any of the Red & Gold’s skill players, the three-time Pro Bowler was candid on the subject. So candid that it might ruffle a few feathers on the west coast.

“I don’t respect ’em,” Marlon Humphrey said on his podcast, the Punch Line Podcast, this week. He was then asked to clarify his remark by co-host Jack Settleman, doubling down in the process. “I don’t respect a single person on their football team,” he stated with a blank expression.

Humphrey would go on to elaborate about the matchup, expressing his excitement for the game. And while he did have strong sentiments at the beginning, his opinion seemingly changed as he thought about the game.

“I’m excited for this one, I mean their defense is crazy…They just got key playmakers. Christian McCaffrey scores every single freaking game. Deebo [Samuel], Brandon [Aiyuk], [George] Kittle, I mean, dang…It’ll be a good one. I think this might be the game of the year honestly, could definitely be the game of the year,” Humphrey said.

Trash talk isn’t new for the 49ers, hearing it from almost every contender along the way the season. In turn, San Francisco has let its’ actions speak volumes. Since the team’s three-game skid, SF has outscored opponents, 207-84, locking up the NFC West division by dong so.

And with the No.1 seed in the NFC still to play for, the 49ers won’t be taking there foot off the pedal for the holidays.
