We’re only a handful of days into 2024 and the Sacramento Kings have already taken home an award from the NBA, being named the Team of the Year for the 2022-23 season.

The honor was announced at the 2024 NBA Team Sales & Marketing Awards earlier this week.

“The Sacramento Kings received the NBA Team of the Year Award for their achievements across team business operations, including ticketing, partnerships, marketing and strategy & analytics,” the NBA announced.

Along with the Team of the Year honors, the Sacramento Kings also took home the NBA Team Innovation Award for including The Beam after team wins. In a press release, Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek RanadivĂ© thanked the organization’s leadership team for “fulfilling our vision to make the Kings a global brand.”

“We are tremendously proud to be recognized with these distinguished honors as we have further ignited our fanbase, continued to build international excitement and revolutionized our business,” Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek RanadivĂ© said in a press release. “I want to further express my gratitude to all of the Sacramento Kings team members who work tirelessly every day to make these ideals a reality. We have the best fans in the world, and we are committed to working hard to bring them the best we can, which they so richly deserve.”

Among the team’s achievements from the 2022-23 season, the Kings were the most-watched 1st round playoff game in 24 years and were ABC’s largest-ever audience for a non-NBA Finals game.
