After the Sacramento Kings’ first post-All-Star break practice, De’Aaron Fox acknowledged he’s been dealing with a should injury.

It’s not a tear, but he doesn’t know what exactly it is. And it hasn’t been bad enough to warrant an MRI.

Speaking to the media, Fox explained that the break came at a good time.

“I definitely just needed a couple of days away,” Fox said. “With the issues I have, five days isn’t going to solve it but you definitely need that type of break in the middle of the season… Obviously, it’s not super long and you don’t want it to be super long cause you don’t get out of a groove that you have. I play almost 36 minutes a game, you don’t want to sit down for too long and obviously working out is not the same as playing a game. You want to try to get that rest, but stay in as much rhythm as you can.”

Through 48 games this season, Fox is averaging 26.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists. The reigning Clutch Player of the Year also talked about where they can improve in the final 28 games of the season, his conversation with Keegan Murray about the Rising Star’s Game, and more.

When is the next game for De’Aaron Fox and the Kings?

Sacramento will enter the All-Star break looking to rest and recover for the final stretch of the regular season.

Once the Kings return from the week-long break, they will face rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs–owner of the worst record in the Western Conference–on Thursday, February 22nd, at Golden 1 Center.
