It’s time to talk some Sacramento Kings! After another confusing back-to-back with a great win against the Los Angeles Clippers followed by a loss to the extremely shorthanded Miami Heat, Brenden Nunes and Frankie Cartoscelli spent an episode of the Return of the Road podcast trying to make sense of it.

The conversation began with the aforementioned two most recent showings. Was the Clippers victory one of the season’s best for Sacramento? Was there anything in that game that increased our belief in what the Kings can be during the final stretch of the regular season and into the postseason?

As for the Miami game, the effort was a fitting talking point — although, it was worth noting some of the complications that Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra presented with their zone defense while Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Bam Adebayo cooked in isolation on the other end. No excuses, but was it an understandable loss on the second night of a back-to-back?

With the recent loss, Sacramento fell from fifth to seventh in the Western Conference. We spent some time in this Return of the Roar episode reviewing the turbulent state of the Western Conference.

What teams would be an ideal matchup for the Kings in the postseason? Who should they avoid? How risky would participating in the play-in be?

Tune in to hear us discuss that and plenty of more great conversation on the Sacramento Kings on the latest episode of the Return of the Roar podcast, and be sure to subscribe to stay up to date with the latest episodes moving forward!

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento will embark on a brief–but challenging–two-game road trip that will begin on Wednesday night in Denver, where they will face the reigning champion Nuggets for the final time this regular season.

The Kings will seek its first four-game season series sweep of Denver since the 2002-03 season after winning the first three matchups, most recently on February 14th when De’Aaron Fox’s 15-point fourth quarter completed a 102-98 comeback win at Ball Arena.

Be sure to tune in right here on Sactown Sports 1140 for all of your Kings vs. Nuggets coverage, beginning at 4:30 PM PST on Game Night before a 6:00 PM PST tip-off from ‘The Mile High City.’
