Golden State Warriors guard Andrew Wiggins has returned to the team, The Athletic reported Tuesday, after he missed the past four games while tending to what was labeled a “serious family matter.”

He is expected to play Wednesday at home against the Milwaukee Bucks after he reportedly was at the team’s practice facility Tuesday.

Wiggins also missed the final 25 regular-season games last season to deal with a “family matter.”

More on Andrew Wiggins

Wiggins, 29, has averaged 12.7 points with 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 51 games (40 starts) this season. He has averaged 18.7 points over 10 career seasons with 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 686 games (675 starts) for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2015-20) and Warriors.

“I had to take care of what I had to take care of, be present for that and then when I think it’s an appropriate time to come back, that’s what I felt like,” Wiggins said after practice on Tuesday. “I’m back here with the team and ready to get to it.”

The Warriors fell 140-88 to the Boston Celtics in a road game Sunday and went 3-1 over the four road games Wiggins missed.

The Warriors went 3-1 during Wiggins’ absence. His first game back on Wednesday is the first of a three-games-in-four-nights homestand.

“I don’t care about the basketball. Life is way more important than the game,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said when asked about Wiggins’ absence. “The main thing is if any of our players have a life situation where they need to be with their family, then that’s where they’re going to be.”
