Tight end Brock Wright signs offer sheet from San Francisco 49ers

Restricted free agent tight end Brock Wright has signed an offer sheet with the San Francisco 49ers.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, this is a rare restricted free-agent signing. Now the Detroit Lions have five days to match the offer.
“The Lions gave Brock Wright — a key part of their offense, particularly in the run game — a one-year, $2.985M, original round RFA tender,” Rapoport posted to X, adding the tight end declined to sign the offer and tested the free agent waters.

Sactown Sports’ 49ers reporter Amiliano Fragoso believes Wright would be the second option behind starter George Kittle, but only if Detroit doesn’t match the offer.
The 25-year-old tight end broke his arm in the Lions’ playoff win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prior to the injury, he recorded 13 receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown.
Wright joined the Lions when they signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2021. His biggest year came in 2022 when he caught 18 receptions for 216 yards and four touchdowns.
