The San Francisco 49ers announced two signings Monday, including veteran tight end Eric Saubert.

Joining Saubert in San Francisco is running back Patrick Taylor Jr. Both are joining the 49ers on one-year deals. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 29-year-old tight end played for both Texas teams last year. In one game with the Dallas Cowboys and nine games with the Houston Texans, he caught three balls for 12 yards. A fifth-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, Eric Saubert has also played for the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars and Denver Broncos.

David Lombardi of The Athletic posted on X that Saubert “has 1,446 career special teams snaps.”

Patrick Taylor Jr., the other new addition to the 49ers locker room, joined the league as an undrafted free agent in 2020 with the Green Bay Packers. In three seasons with the Cheeseheads, the 25-year-old running back averaged four yards per carry. His best year came in 2023 when he appeared in 11 games and carried the ball for 141 yards and caught 11 passes for 49 yards.
