NBA Insider for The Athletic, Anthony Slater, joined The Drive Guys Friday to talk about the Sacramento Kings and their recent loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. They also discuss the rest of the western conference standings, what the Kings options are and how it could pay out this postseason. Plus, are the Kings’ too undermanned to make a playoff push?

All that and more on Sactown Sports.

“The [Malik Monk] injury it’s massive, like nobody can replicate what he does,” Anthony Slater said on the show. You can feel it in these games, with the lack of scoring punch now suddenly on their roster. I don’t want to say defeated for the Kings, but it definitely feels much more like a tumble for the Kings.”

  • How has the change in officiating been perceived across the NBA?
  • If the Kings make the playoffs, what is the best first-round matchup for them?
  • Is it Denver and then everyone else in the west?
