Finishing the 2023 NFL season with an 8-9 record landed the Las Vegas Raiders the 13th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. On Thursday, the Raiders used that pick to select Georgia Tight End Brock Bowers.

At 6’4, 240 pounds, Bowers tallied 714 yards and six touchdowns in his junior season. A three-time All-American, three-time first-team All-SEC and two-time John Macket Award (nation’s top TE) winner, Brock Bowers was regarded as the best tight end in the 2024 NFL Draft class.

While many speculated that Las Vegas would go after a quarterback, six were taken before they were on the clock at 13:

  • Caleb Williams, Chicago (1)
  • Jayden Daniels, Washington (2)
  • Drake Maye, New England (3)
  • Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta (8)
  • J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota (10)
  • Bo Nix, Oregon (12)

Regarded for his versatile skills as both a route runner and threat downfield, along with an exceptional pass and run blocker, Brock Bowers joins Michael Mayer in the Raiders’ tight end room. They traded up in the 2023 NFL Draft to select Mayer at 35th overall.
