Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown to address UC Davis grads

Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown will be a speaker at UC Davis’ undergraduate ceremonies at the Golden 1 Center this June.

Brown will address graduates in a recorded video that will be played at ceremonies on Sunday, June 14th, Monday, June 15th, and Tuesday, June 16th.

Mike Brown, the head coach of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, will speak by way of a recorded video to the five undergraduate ceremonies at Golden 1 Center — home of the Kings.

In his first season as head coach of the Kings, Brown guided Sacramento to the seventh-best record in the NBA and helped the Kings secure the third seed in the Western Conference.

For his efforts, Brown became the first coach to be unanimously voted NBA Coach of the Year. With more than 30 years of NBA coaching experience, Brown has won four NBA championships as an assistant coach. In November 2020, Brown coached the Nigeria men’s national basketball team in the International Basketball Federation, or FIBA, qualifiers in Rwanda and in August 2021, the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

He also served as a coach for the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Africa 2023, which brought together 80 boys and girls from 25 African countries. Brown is a graduate of the University of San Diego.

When is the next Sacramento Kings off-season date of interest?

The NBA Draft is now a two-night event.

Wednesday, June 26th, will act as the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft, where the Sacramento Kings will make their first-round selection (13th). The second round of the draft will be held on Thursday, June 27th, where the Kings will use its 45th overall pick.

Sacramento hasn’t had a first-round pick since 2022, when it selected Iowa product Keegan Murray with the fourth overall pick.
