Jerry Reynolds likes the Kings’ decision to draft Devin Carter

The Sacramento Kings made a flurry of moves this week, drafting guard Devin Carter with the 13th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft before trading away former top-ten pick Davion Mitchell and Sasha Vezenkov to the Toronto Raptors less than 24 hours later.

Longtime broadcaster and former Kings head coach Jerry Reynolds joined The Drive Guys, Kevin Gleason and Kyle Draper, to share his thoughts on Carter, who is now in line to receive playing time in the second unit for Sacramento.

Carter, 22, was the Big East Player of the Year in 2023-24 while also taking home All-Big East First Team Honors. At 6’3, Carter finished the season ranked 3rd in rebounds per game (8.7) and total rebounds (286) among all Big East players.

When is the next Sacramento Kings off-season date of interest?

Now that the NBA Draft is in the rearview, all eyes will shift to the start of free agency.

All 30 teams will be able to negotiate free-agent deals with players beginning this Sunday, June 30th, at 3:00 PM PDT.

Sacramento already did some heavy lifting by agreeing to a four-year, $78 million deal with Sixth Man of the Year runner-up Malik Monk, as the two sides agreed on a long-term contract last weekend.
