Grammy-award winning rapper Kendrick Lamar set to headline Super Bowl LIX
The NFL has announced that grammy-award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.

After having the hip-hop song of the summer, Kendrick Lamar will now set his sights on taking over the NFL landscape once more in 2025.
The NFL announced over the weekend that the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show will be headlined by Lamar. The 2025 Big Game marks the second time the Los Angeles native has been a part of the football spectacle, making an appearance during Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in 2022. He did so alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige.
The NFL announced the 2025 halftime show alongside Lamar, with both doing so on social media.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why,” Lamar said in a statement, via the NFL. “They got the right one.”
“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar,” NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky added. “Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.”
Kendrick Lamar has won 17 Grammys in his music career. He is also the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize, doing so for his 2017 album DAMN.
2024 has been a highlight for Lamar’s career. The rapper was featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” spending three weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Lamar’s single “Not Like Us” also spent two weeks this summer at No. 1.
