Where the Sacramento Kings roster stands after signing Markelle Fultz

The Sacramento Kings roster looks much different than it did one week ago.

De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Jordan McLaughlin, and Alex Len are gone. Zach LaVine, Jonas Valanciunas, and Jake LaRavia are in.

Kings general manager Monte McNair has continued to work following last Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, as news broke this week that Sacramento has signed former top NBA draft pick and free agent guard Markelle Fultz to a deal for the rest of this season.

By trading away Fox and McLaughlin, the Kings’ point guard depth was reduced to Malik Monk–who has spent most of his career at the shooting guard position–and rookie guard Devin Carter, who is still in the process of getting his NBA legs under him after missing the first half of the season.

Fultz, 26, has not played this season as he went through a rehab process after playing in just 43 games last season. According to Raymond Brothers, Fultz’s agent, the Washington product is healthy and ready to play.

Sacramento has bolstered its bench depth–a glaring weakness so far this season–with the additions of Valanciunas and LaRavia while also retaining Trey Lyles during the deadline. Keon Ellis continues to take strides as a three-and-D threat, forcing head coach Doug Christie to keep him on the floor late in games.

By adding Fultz, a seven-year veteran, the Kings have added even more experience around a starting unit that includes Monk, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray, and Domantas Sabonis.

As the Beam Team prepares for the stretch run, here is a current look at the Sacramento Kings roster that will be on the playoff hunt after the All-Star break.
