Kings clinch play-in berth, Phoenix eliminated

With Phoenix falling to Golden State, the 2024-25 Sacramento Kings have officially clinched a play-in berth.

With the Phoenix Suns mathematically eliminated from the play-in after falling to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, the 2024-25 Sacramento Kings have officially clinched a play-in berth.

There is still potential movement within the play-in, as the Kings and Dallas Mavericks battle for the ninth seed — as the ninth seed would host the tenth in the first play-in game.

With three games remaining in their regular season, interim head coach Doug Christie and his Sacramento squad hope to take positive momentum into the postseason.

Riding a three-game win streak, which spanned over the end of their final road trip, maybe they can maintain that trajectory.

Dealing with injuries as their 2024-25 regular season winds down, the Sacramento Kings are reportedly signing Terence Davis to a deal, per ESPN‘s Shams Charania.

A familiar face in California’s capital, Davis played with the Kings from 2020-2023. Despite being heavily linked to overseas organizations, the guard elected to remain in the G-League, determined to carve out a consistent role in the NBA.

Unfortunately, Davis suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in January 2024 that temporarily stalled his journey and limited him to just four appearances with the Rip City Remix in 2023-24.

In 30 games with the Wisconsin Herd this season, Terence Davis averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists on 46.5 percent from the field. Often regarded as a microwave scorer and high-level shooter, converting 40.2 percent of his seven three-point attempts per game with the Herd is intriguing.
