The 29-year-old big man did not participate in Thursday’s practice and, according to reports, will miss Friday’s preseason finale at Crypto.com Arena.

Per Chris Haynes, Sabonis “sustained a mild hamstring strain” during Wednesday’s action.

For reference, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry suffered a grade 1 hamstring strain last playoffs, causing him to miss their final four postseason battles against Minnesota.

The typical recovery time for a grade 1 is roughly 7-10 days, with a grade 2 potentially taking up to 4-8 weeks.

No re-evaluation timeline has been provided for Sabonis. Sacramento opens its regular season against the Suns six days from Thursday’s reporting.

With Murray already sidelined due to a torn ligament in his left thumb, the Kings could head into Phoenix on October 22nd without two starters.

Although Keegan Murray will be missing the next four to six weeks as he recovers from wrist surgery, Sacramento Kings fans will be seeing the forward in action at Golden 1 Center for years to come.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Kings have reached a five-year, $140 million agreement that will keep Murray in Sacramento and keep the former fourth-overall pick from entering restricted free agency next summer. There are no player or team options included in Murray’s extension.

The October 20th deadline for an extension was quickly approaching, and new Kings general manager Scott Perry has committed to Murray long-term, a dynamic 6’8″ forward who can defend multiple positions and pose a threat on the perimeter.
