It has been a rough season for the Oakland Raiders to say the very least. After being humiliated (again) in London against the Seattle Seahawks on October 14th, the Silver and Black were hopeful that a bye week would help them get right for their return home against the Indianapolis Colts. While Oakland’s offense looked improved, quarterback Derek Carr putting up his best statistical game of the season, the Raider defense fell apart late as Andrew Luck and the Colts won the day 42-28.

For his first game without receiver Amari Cooper, who was traded to the Dallas Cowboys last week for a first round draft pick, Carr had himself a great day. He and the Raiders scored all of their 28 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, leading the Colts 28-21 heading into the final 15 minutes. Carr completed 75% of his passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns.

The Colts got their 1st 4th quarter scoring push started in the final minutes of the 3rd quarter, putting together three-straight touchdown drives. The two full 4th quarter drives each took a combined 11 plays, as the Raider defense looked to completely run out of steam. Indy dominated possession throughout the game, keeping the Oakland defense on the field for nearly 37 minutes.

The Raiders, now 1-6, carry their treasure trove of acquired first round picks through a short week, as they meet with the Bay Area rival San Francisco 49ers for Thursday Night Football action on November 1st.
