Nick Bosa ranked among top-five edge rushers on Madden 27

The latest Madden 27 ratings are out, and despite missing nearly all of last season, San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa remains firmly among the NFL’s elite.

EA Sports ranked Bosa as the fifth-best edge rusher in Madden 27, giving him a 94 overall rating.

Only Myles Garrett (99), Micah Parsons (98), Maxx Crosby (97), and Will Anderson Jr. (95) earned higher marks, while Bosa finished ahead of stars like Aidan Hutchinson, T.J. Watt, Danielle Hunter, Nik Bonitto and Trey Hendrickson.

The ranking is a testament to the body of work Bosa has put together since entering the league in 2019.

Madden 27 Ratings: Edge Rushers

Although his 2025 season was cut short after just three games due to a torn right ACL suffered in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals, Bosa enters 2026 fully healthy and has been a full participant throughout 49ers training camp.

Before last year’s injury, Bosa had put together one of the most dominant stretches of any pass rusher in football.

He recorded at least nine sacks in four consecutive seasons, earned five Pro Bowl selections, was named First-Team All-Pro in 2022, and captured the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award that same season after leading the league with 18.5 sacks.

That resume explains why EA Sports didn’t penalize him much despite an injury-shortened campaign.

When healthy, Bosa has consistently proven to be one of the NFL’s most complete edge defenders. His explosive first step, polished pass-rush arsenal and ability to set the edge against the run have made him the centerpiece of San Francisco’s defense for years.

The 49ers are counting on that version of Bosa returning in 2026.

With Bosa fully recovered, San Francisco expects its star pass rusher to once again be among the league leaders in sacks. If he returns to the form that made him the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year, it’s easy to see why Madden 27 still considers him one of football’s five best edge rushers.

For now, Bosa’s 94 overall rating places him in elite company and gives the 49ers yet another highly-rated defensive cornerstone heading into the new season.
