Seven straight wins at home. Three straight wins overall. The Sacramento Kings are now 28-25 on the season after defeating the San Antonio Spurs (for the second time) 127-112. It was a complete team effort once again, with the Kings bench providing 60 points after their 80 point night against Philadelphia Saturday, moving SAC within half a game of the 8th place Los Angeles Clippers, ever closer to the playoffs.

It was a tough choice, but Yogi Ferrell was the King of the night, providing 19 points on a perfect seven for seven off the bench. His effort sparked multiple Kings runs, and “Yogi” chants rang throughout the Golden 1 Center.

“Yogi Ferrell was tremendous,” said head coach Dave Joerger, “He had the hot hand and that’s why I sat Buddy and De’Aaron for so long”.

“This felt great. It was a team effort all the way around. Everybody played together, we played well, shared the ball…that was a fun game to play” said Ferrell.

Marvin Bagley had the game, and the highlight, of his career, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds for his third straight double-double. But everybody is talking about his ridiculous 360 ally-oop:

“I was in transition, Yogi saw me, it was a great pass…It was just one of those things where it happened in the moment. I didn’t really know what I was going to do” said Bagley after the game.

Bagley continued to deflect from his moment, sharing love for Ferrell, “Seeing Yogi go off like that in the fourth, it’s exciting. Hearing the fans scream his name like that, it gets me hype and it’s not even my name”.

Joerger had lots of good to say about the rookie big-man’s career night, “He’s coming along and obviously he is talented. It’s fun to watch him come along, especially at home”.

De’Aaron Fox led the Sacramento starters in scoring with 20 points. He also dished out six assists and pulled down six rebounds.

“We have gotten back to playing the way we were playing at the beginning of the season”.

The Sacramento Kings are feeling good, and look to carry the momentum into their meeting Wednesday with James Harden and the Houston Rockets, who are just three games ahead of the Kings in the West, despite sitting all the way up in 5th place.
