For anyone who follows any of our social media’s, you know we love memes and gifs here at Sports 1140. So you can only imagine our excitement to find The Ringer has compiled a full 64 team style bracket of all of the best memes in NBA history. The list includes such classics as “Lance-LBJ ear blow”, the “A.I. Step Over”, and CJ McCollum’s “I’m trying Jennifer” meme.

Also included in this list is Sports Fest 2018 guest, Mike Bibby, who if you weren’t aware has become quite the gym rat since his retirement.

Teaching my son the tricks of the trade

Bibby finds himself in the first round of the meme-off with the toughest competitor of the bunch, “Crying Jordan”. A classic debate. Mike vs Michael. On one side we have Michael, hysterically sobbing at his Hall of Fame Induction, probably The G.O.A.T. of any and all memes.  An incredibly simple meme, put the face on/in any failing subject and the laughs ensue.

Mike is for sure facing an uphill battle, but hear me out for just a second. Mike earned his meme. Put blood, sweat, and ZERO tears into his meme. It’s a meme that is as big as his Thor-like biceps. One that leaves you at a loss for words.

Now I’m not saying that Bibby’s beefcake-ness is a more universally applicable meme, or that it will illicit the same humorous reaction as Jordan’s masterpiece, but what I am saying is, to quote Erik Killmonger, “Is this your king?”  Is the image of him puffy-eyed and red-faced how you want to remember this legend of the game? Not I….not.I.
