It’s been a rough final season for legendary San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy, who announced his intention to retire following the 2019 campaign, where the Giants currently sit with just 25 wins and 34 losses in early June. However, on Tuesday, San Francisco defeated the New York Mets 9-3, earning Bochy his 1000th win as the manager of the Giants.

Following the game, Giants players showered their manager with beer in celebration. Bochy was all smiles talking with the media, making the most of his moment amidst a trying season.

“I’m blessed. I made a great decision coming up here in 2007. It’s been a tremendous ride.”

It’s fitting that Madison Bumgarner was on the mound for the milestone:

The Giants continue their series with the Mets tonight in New York. First pitch at 4:10pm.
