Monday: Athletics 3, Orioles 2

WP: Mike Fiers (7-3, 4.28 ERA), LP: Andrew Cashner (6-3, 4.48 ERA), SV: Blake Treinen (16)

The only trouble Fiers ran into all game was the second inning where the Orioles were able to get one on the board thanks to a throwing error from Matt Chapman. Other than the second inning, Fiers didn’t allow a baserunner until the seventh inning. He finished the night allowing just three hits and striking out four, allowing just two runs with none earned.

The start continued the hot trend Fiers has been on. Since his no-hitter on May 7 against the Reds, he’s 5-1 with a 2.47 over 51.1 innings.

Tuesday: Athletics 16, Orioles 2

WP: Brett Anderson (7-4, 3.26), LP: Gabriel Ynoa (0-4, 5.65)

The second-highest scoring output by the A’s this season was fueled by a 10 run sixth inning that featured four home runs. Oakland hit six home runs on the night led by Ramon Laureano, who went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, and three RBI.

Brett Anderson put in seven strong innings, allowing just four hits and striking out two followed by Aaron Brooks two shutout innings.

Wednesday: Athletics 8, Orioles 3

WP: Chris Bassitt (4-3, 3.64), LP: Josh Rogers (0-1, 8.18)

Two big innings earned the sweep for Oakland on Wednesday. Josh Phegley was to credit for the three-run fifth inning, hitting his ninth home run of the season with a three-run home run. The seventh inning saw the A’s score four more runs capped by a Laureano double to push the lead to four.

The A’s will host the Rays in the four-game series over the weekend starting Thursday.
