Shortly before the NBA’s Free Agency negotiation window opened at 3:00 pm PST on Thursday, The Sacramento Bee‘s Jason Anderson dropped the news that guard Malik Monk was expected to reach an agreement with the Sacramento Kings.

Sure enough, almost the very second after the clock struck 3:00 pm PST, it was reported that the Kings and Monk reach an agreement on a two-year deal worth $19 million.

During Thursday afternoon’s edition of Cattles & Ramie, Anderson joined the show to discuss the process of learning about Monk’s agreement, discuss what the move means for the Kings, and much more.

Topics discussed:

  • Was this a good move for Sacramento?
  • How did this deal come to fruition?
  • Will Monk be the starting shooting guard next season?
  • Is defense next on Monte McNair’s to-do list?
  • Was this move McNair ‘giving the keys’ to De’Aaron Fox?
