The Los Angeles Chargers will likely be without quarterback Justin Herbert when they face the Raiders on Thursday night. Can Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas have a different quarterback, too?

When Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels in Week 9, he made a change at the quarterback position, starting Aidan O’Connell in place of veteran Jimmy Garoppolo.

At the time, he said the rookie provides the Raiders with the “best chance” to win. And for two games, it looked like that was the right move. But following three straight losses, including Sunday’s 3-0 defeat by the hands of the Minnesota Vikings where O’Connell finished the game with 171 passing yards and an interception, Antonio Pierce said they’re “still evaluating” who will be behind center Thursday night.

“We’re just going through the process. I’m not going to rush to make any decision, not do anything emotional based off what I read or what anybody is telling me. I’ll go off my guy,” Pierce said.

After Sunday’s game, O’Connell said he hasn’t lost confidence in himself, but he knows he has to do better.

“I point to myself, I got to do a better job of executing in the run game, in the pass game, and making sure we have a good play going when I hike the football. You can put it on me, I got to execute better,” O’Connell said Sunday.
