The San Francisco 49ers will again be without a key member of their team Sunday night, losing defensive tackle Arik Armstead to a foot injury.
Armstead, a Sacramento native, appeared on the injury report for the first time Wednesday after missing the day’s practice. The defensive lineman went on to miss Thursday and Friday’s sessions, prompting a questionable designation heading into Week 3 in Denver.
“No, he didn’t [practice all week],” head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday.

Armstead left the door open for a possible appearance, going through a pregame workout to determine if he could play on his injured foot. After testing it through a series of drills, and talking with the coaching staff, he was ruled out for the Sunday’s contest against the Broncos.
A defensive captain, Armstead has been one of the most durable players for San Francisco, playing in all 70 games since missing time during the 2017 season.
Joining the Sacramento native on the inactive list for the 49ers is OL Nick Zakelj [coach’s decision], DL Kemoko Turay [personal matter], RB Ty Davis-Price [ankle], TE Tyler Kroft [knee], and OL Daniel Brunskill [hamstring].
