San Francisco 49ers defensive end and Sacramento native Arik Armstead joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Wednesday morning to talk about last weekend’s win over the Seattle Seahawks, his rookie quarterback and his injuries this season. Armstead missed several weeks of the regular season because of foot and ankle issues, but he’s back now and ready for the next playoff opponent.
Topics discussed include:
- Arik explains in detail his sack of Geno Smith in Saturday’s win, his first of the year
- When everyone is healthy, it makes the defense’s job easier to attack an offensive line
- His injury this year and the experience of sitting out multiple games
- “It was a new challenge for me, mentally and physically, to have to rehab during the season, not be able to be part of the games. And I hadn’t missed a game in four years, so it was pretty tough for me.”
- What he sees when he’s watching his offense and how the offensive line has stepped.
- What’s impressed him the most about Brock Purdy?
- The playoff history between the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys and what it means to be part of this playoff rivalry.
- How he continues to give back to his hometown of Sacramento and the current projects he and his team are working on.
