Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker has been placed on the team’s 10-day injured list.
According to the team, Rooker is out with a costochondral cartilage injury. He exited last Sunday’s win over the Detroit Tigers with abdominal soreness.
The move is retroactive to April 8.

In conjecture with the move, the A’s have called up Max Schuemann from the Las Vegas Aviators, Oakland’s Triple-A affiliate, to fill the roster.
Through eight games this season, Brent Rooker is hitting .200 with an on-base percentage of .226. The 29-year-old outfielder was Oakland’s lone All-Star last season.
Schuemann gets called up for the first time in his career. The 27-year-old utility player was selected in the 20th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the A’s. He’s ranked as Oakland’s 21st prospect by the MLB Pipeline.
