San Francisco 49ers reporter Cam Inman joined Cattles & Ramie Monday as the team kicks off OTAs. The offseason Organized Team Activities (OTAs) take place on and off until Thursday, June 8, then mandatory minicamp takes place several days later on June 13.
The team then breaks until training camp in late July.
“The starting positions are not up for grabs, so they need to figure out who the backups are, get them squared up to last for a 20-plus game season,” Inman said, adding all that anyone will talk about is the quarterback position.
Additional topics discussed include:
- Levi’s Stadium being awarded Super Bowl LX in 2026
- Which players are not expected to show up at OTAs
- Trey Lance is still a “mystery man” and he can still be great
- Sam Darnold is “getting talked up a lot” because the San Francisco 49ers have a great supporting cast
- Who’s the first linebacker off the 49ers’ bench?
- Jake Moody has looked good so far in offseason workouts
- Why Ji’Ayir Brown could replace Tashaun Gipson by the end of his rookie season
