Damon Amendolara of CBS Sports joined Cattles and Ramie Thursday ahead of the 2023 NFL schedule release to discuss the state of the NFC and where the San Francisco 49ers rank, if the New York Jets could overcome the Bills in the AFC and a question about baseball.
When asked if the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles are the top teams of the NFC, he said there could be some sleepers, but these two teams are at the top.
“Noone’s in their class. I think there can be sleepers out there but nobody’s going to be in their class. This is an NFC that has two elite teams and some others that could be good,” Amendolara said, adding the Cowboys, Seahawks and Giants as teams that could be good to very good.
Additional topics discussed include:
- Talent-wise, how much separation is there between the 49ers and the Eagles
- Who are the sleepers in the NFC?
- Are the Jets legitimate contenders with Aaron Rodgers behind center?
- Is Rodgers re-energized in New York?
- Thoughts on the A’s attempting to leave Oakland for Las Vegas
