From rumors to swift execution, the Los Angeles Clippers moved quickly in organizing a deal with the  Detroit Pistons to send former All-Star Blake Griffin to the Motor City.

Currently 9th in the Western Conference and a game over .500, the Clippers are still very much in the hunt for a playoff spot. However, it was expected that the franchise was going to be active before the trade deadline in hopes of starting a short-term rebuild.

Following the departure of Chris Paul after multiple failed playoff runs, the Clippers are hoping to maximize their return value for their remaining stars. Blake Griffin was the first casualty of many still to come.

The NBA Trade Deadline is just 10 days away, set for 3 p.m. ET. on Thursday, February 8th.
