Darren Waller is close to returning from his hamstring injury, literally and physically.
Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports spoke with the Raiders tight end this week, where Waller said he’s feeling as good as ever.
Yeah. The hamstring is feeling really good. This Sunday coming up is my last game on IR, so Monday I’ll be back after it and then we’ll see what the plan is as far as me playing Thursday or wait until the following week since we won’t have a full week of practice. But I’m feeling as close to 100% as I’ve felt all year.”
Waller was sidelined with the injury since the team’s Week 5 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. After multiple attempts to practice and return, he was placed on IR at the beginning of November. Following Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, he’s eligible to be designated to return from his IR slots.
Earlier this week, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said Darren Waller, along with wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, are getting close to returning.
“They’re working really hard to get back as soon as they can,” McDaniels said. “We’re aware of the clock, and we’ll have to make a smart decision when that time comes.”
The Raiders have a quick turnaround after Sunday’s game. In Week 14, they face off against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football.
