LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Davante Adams says he’d like to be involved in quarterback discussions for Raiders

Davante Adams has made it clear he wouldn’t be a Raider if it weren’t for Derek Carr.
And what many expected to be a successful pairing for years to come may have only lasted 16 games.
Last weekend, Las Vegas made the decision to start Jarret Stidham and not play Carr for the team’s final two games. And even though Stidham played well against the 49ers, coach Josh McDaniels said there’s no finality to the decisions behind made this season.
While Adams supports his friend and whatever happens next, he said he’d like to remain a Raider following this season. Being a member of this organization has been a dream of his for a long time, even before Carr arrived.
“I wouldn’t have been here or ended up here originally probably if Derek [Carr] wasn’t here, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that I won’t be here in the event that he’s not here,” Adams said. “That’s my boy, obviously I got his back through anything. I think I’ve made that more than clear at this point, and I support him, I support everything that he has moving forward as well. But my dream was to play for this team before he was a Raider obviously, and at this point I want to obviously try to make this thing work and continue on doing what I’m doing here and myself get better and obviously see the team grow and get better as well.”
The Raiders will have plenty of decisions to make this coming off-season. When asked if he’d like to be involved or kept in the loop in the search for the next quarterback, Adams said absolutely.
“I mean me, Josh [McDaniels], Ziegs [Dave Ziegler], we’ve all got a really good dynamic and it’s something that I really appreciate. I’ve mentioned it to them as well. Obviously, they don’t have to do anything as far as I’m not a part of the front office, but obviously they know the reason why I came here and a step like this is obviously something that means a lot to me and my personal career and obviously what I’m trying to chase as far as the ultimate pursuit to get that ring,” Adams said. “I’m not a guy that’s just going to come in here just saying anything – they know whether it’s about the scheme or if it’s about personnel, whatever it is, there’s a rhyme to the reason. So, I’m definitely going to have something behind whatever it is that I’m thinking or saying. So, we obviously got a good understanding for one another and that helps this whole process.”
