Davante Adams has not yet been suspended by the NFL for shoving a person after the team’s Week 5 loss in Kansas City.

And he likely won’t for some time.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Raiders‘ wide receiver Davante Adams will stay on the field until his legal situation is resolved.

Adams’ situation, however, won’t play out immediately, in part to a legal developmental that came on Wednesday when he was charged with a city ordinance violation of assault, according to a Kansas City (Missouri) Municipal Court public information officer.

Because Adams was criminally charged, his case is now considered a potential personal-conduct policy violation, which warrants a league investigation. However, if the case is resolved in any way — legal charges are dropped, Adams pleads guilty, or any other outcome that concludes this situation — a resolution would come quicker, sources informed of the situation say.

The Las Vegas Raiders return from their Bye Week on Sunday, Oct. 23, at home against the Houston Texans. Adams is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Nov. 10. The Raiders play the Indianapolis Colts at home that following Sunday.

The Raiders’ receiver apologized after the game, and again on social media, saying “sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game. Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran infront of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. Thats not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this.”
