For the second year in a row, Davante Adams heads into training camp with a new quarterback.

In three years, Adams has gone from Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay to Derek Carr in his first year with the Raiders and now recently signed free agent Jimmy Garoppolo.

Despite the changes, his production hasn’t decreased. If anything, he’s shown that he is quarterback-proof, posting back-t0-back 1,500 receiving-yard seasons.

After their first practice together, Adams said it will be a process getting on the same page as Garoppolo, but he’s up to the challenge.

“He’s a great guy, easy to talk to, super coachable from the coaches to him and listening to my feedback and the way that I view the game too,” Adams said. “Today [Wednesday] was very productive, a lot of conversation out there, and we just got to stay on that and continue with it to get to where we want to be obviously come Week 1.”

Adams went on to say it’s different catching balls from a new quarterback because timing and release are different.

“Nothing that the reps can’t kind of get you used to, so it’s not like it’s worse or better – it can be, but in my situation, I’ve had some guys that know how to get the ball out,” Adams said. “So, it’s been a pretty easy transition for me.”

Garoppolo, who was in the safe draft class as Adams, was asked about going from the likes of Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk to Adams.

“I always watched Davante and thought he was one of the best in the league, if not the best, and I mean, as a quarterback, it gives you a sense of relief almost to have a guy like that,” Garoppolo said. “We were just talking; just hearing him talk and how he sees the picture, and how I see it, It’s pretty cool. I mean, he sees it very similar to a quarterback, which as a quarterback, makes you feel great.”
