Vince McMahon is facing more controversy, as the Wall Street Journal has followed up its initial report from June of a secret $3 million “hush pact” between McMahon and a former employee with more revelations involving the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment [WWE].
During Friday’s edition of Cattles & Ramie, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter joined the show to discuss the latest Vince McMahon news, as the Wall Street Journal reports McMahon agreed to pay $12 million “in hush money to four women.” The latest report goes on to allege a former wrestler received a $7.5 million payout after she was “coerced into giving him oral sex and then demoted her and, ultimately, decline to renew her contract in 2005…”
After the initial report from the Wall Street Journal on June 17, Vince McMahon stepped down as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the WWE. His daughter, Stephanie McMahon, is currently serving as the interim CEO and Chairwoman. Even though the reports have come out, that hasn’t stopped Vince McMahon from appearing on television. After the initial report surfaced, Vince opened WWE Smackdown, saying it was a privilege to stand in front of the WWE universe before welcoming the fans to the show.
