Davion Mitchell secures his first Defensive Player of the Game chain during win vs Denver

Sacramento Kings guard Davion Mitchell secured the Defensive Player of the game chain for his impressive efforts during Wednesday’s win over the Denver Nuggets–a 127-126 thriller at Golden 1 Center.
Mitchell spoke to the media following the win, as the defensive-minded guard made it clear that he intends on winning the DPOG chain many times this season.
“It’s my first time. It’s definitely not going to be my last.”

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season hoping to break a 16-year playoff drought. After hiring Mike Brown as the team’s new coach, the Kings drafted Keegan Murray as the number four overall pick. They continued to make moves over the summer, trading for Kevin Huerter and signing multiple free agents, including guard Malik Monk.
