De’Aaron Fox spoke to the media Friday after practice and before the team leaves for Los Angeles to face off against the Clippers. He told reporters he’s working through soreness and a bug that’s been circulating recently.

“It’s a long season, so you don’t want to overwork yourself at the beginning of the year, but I’m fine,” Fox said.

The Kings’ guard went on to talk about the team’s most recent win against the Indiana Pacers, playing against former teammates, and the keys to having a good defensive game.

“I think we’ve been a lot better defensively, and there are still areas where we need to continue to be better at,” Fox said.

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season hoping to break a 16-year playoff drought. After hiring Mike Brown as the team’s new coach, the Kings drafted Keegan Murray as the number four overall pick. They continued to make moves over the summer, trading for Kevin Huerter and signing multiple free agents, including guard Malik Monk.
