Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has been playing like a shoo-in All-Star this season, and now the big man is getting some national attention.

Sabonis has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for his efforts during the week of January 9-15th.

The 26-year-old averaged 18.5 points, 14.3 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game while shooting 51 percent from the field during Sacramento’s perfect 4-0 week.

If ‘Player of the Week’ sounds fresh in your mind from this season, it’s because De’Aaron Fox received the honor back on November 21st. This marks the first time that multiple Kings players have been named Player of the Week in the same season since Mike Bibby and Brad Miller did so during the 2004-05 season.

Sabonis, who is on track to make his third NBA All-Star roster, has been one of the best players in the league this season for a Kings team that currently holds a 2.5-game lead in the Pacific Division and sits in fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

The center holds season averages of 18.9 points, 12.6 rebounds (career-high and leads the NBA), and 7.1 assists (career-high) per game while shooting 61 percent from the field (career-high) and 38 percent from three-point land.

Considered a double-double machine, Sabonis has posted 20-straight double-doubles, a mark that has established a new Sacramento era (1985-present) record and has pushed the big into first in the league when it comes to double-doubles (33) and fourth in triple-doubles (four).

As of January 16th, Sabonis leads the NBA in rebounds (517), rebounds per game (12.6), and defensive rebounds (363) while holding top-10 spots in assists (7th, 290), true shooting percentage (7th, .571), effective field goal percentage (7th, .630), Offensive Rating (2nd, 134.0), and Win Shares (3rd, 7.1).

Kings forward Harrison Barnes also received some votes for Player of the Week as the veteran forward averaged 25.5 points per game on 66 percent shooting from the field and 64 percent from beyond the three-point arc over the past week of action.
