Sacramento Kings Chief Strategy Officer Joe Dumars Departs From Organization

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Sacramento Kings chief strategy officer Joe Dumars has left his role with the organization and will join the National Basketball Association as its Executive Vice President Head of Basketball Operations.
Dumars has been with the Kings organization since the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
The Hall of Fame guard acted as Sacramento’s special advisor to then-general manager Vlade Divac from 2019 through the fall of 2020 when he was named chief strategy officer.
Dumars, the 2002-2002 NBA Executive of the Year Award winner while with the Detroit Pistons, exits from his role with Sacramento as the franchise nears its completion of another coaching search.
Kings general manager Monte McNair is expected to bring veteran head coaches Mike Brown, Steve Clifford, and Mark Jackson in for a second round of interviews this week, with a final decision likely to follow shortly after.
