Orignal Story:

At long last, it’s finally here. Well, at least an exact date for the return of EA Sports College Football.

The highly-touted college football video game franchise will officially make it’s return on July 19th, announced by EA Sports Thursday. The game will be the first installment of the popular franchise since NCAA Football 14, due to legality and likeness issues with college athletes.

Fast forward a decade later, the historic franchise is back, with an official trailer coming May 17th.

EA Sports released the cover art for both the standard and deluxe editions of the game. The former features Texas quarterback Quin Ewers, Michigan running back Donovan Edwards and Colorado dual-athlete Travis Hunter. The deluxe edition features all three players as well, with several other collegiate prospects featured in a stadium tunnel.

“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year,” EA Sports SVP and Group GM Daryl Holt said in a statement via IGN. “We’re proud to be able to incorporate thousands of current athletes in College Football 25, and featuring this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is a perfect fit as we usher in a new era for EA Sports and college football. I can’t wait for the world to learn more about the game tomorrow.”

Texas football released their own trailer Thursday to announce Ewers as a cover athlete, with Michigan and Colorado following next.

The game is officially available for pre-order on both Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There are several options for pre-order: Standard, Deluxe and an MVP Bundle. The latter is an extra pre-order special, encapsulating both the new college football video game, and EA Sports Madden NFL 25, into one package.

That option is available now at $149.99, or $134.99 if you have EA Play.
