Former NFL fullback Lorenzo Neal joined Sactown Sports Friday to talk about the latest storylines in the NFL, including the San Francisco 49ers starting the season 3-0 and the play of their running back, Christian McCaffrey.
Neal, a California native, played 16 seasons in the NFL, with stops with the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens and the Oakland Raiders. Now, he hosts a podcast about the Los Angeles Chargers.
As a Charger, Neal was teammates with NFL legend Ladainian Tomlinson. When asked if he sees any similarities between LT and CMC, Neal said Christian McCaffrey is “one of the closest things to LT because of his speed.”
“They are both game changes… you have to put McCaffrey in that conversation of the total back,” Neal added.
Additional topics discussed include:
- Who are the most popular or famous Chargers and the team’s move from San Diego to Los Angeles
- What does an 0-3 start mean for the LA Chargers?
- Why the 49ers presented a five-lineman formation against the New York Giants
