Ha-Seong Kim #7 of the San Diego Padres gets the out on LaMonte Wade Jr. #31 of the San Francisco Giants at second base in the bottom of the seventh inning at Oracle Park on August 30, 2022 in San Francisco, California.

This weekend, the San Diego Padres host the San Francisco Giants in MLB’s first-ever regular season series played in Mexico City and the first-ever international series for the Giants.

The league has played in Mexico before, with five regular season games taking place in Monterrey, with the first one dating back to 1996 between the Padres and New York Mets. And they won’t be the only teams to play internationally this season. This June, the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals will meet in London.
