Look, we’ve all had those moments when you’ve wanted to throw something. Kick something. Punch something.

But once you get to a certain age, you realize that if you want to pull the trigger on getting that relief from your anger, you need to be aware of your surroundings.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Carlos Rodón was not on Tuesday evening at Chase Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

After the fifth inning concluded, one in which Rodón was surprisingly coming off seven straight retired batters, he entered the dugout and kicked a bat that stood up against the bench.

That bat predictably went in the direction Rodón kicked it in, right where his teammate Thairo Estrada was walking. It nailed poor Estrada in the knee and he went down.

Carlos Rodón immediately realized how foolish he looked and checked on Estrada. Only a few minutes later, Estrada would get hit by a pitch in the at-bat he was walking over to get ready for. We’ve all had those types of days.

“Unacceptable action,” Rodón told reporters after the game. “I hit my teammate, the nicest teammate on the team. Just a selfish action and it just cannot happen. Stupid.”

Here’s the crazy part: Rodón should have learned his lesson an hour prior.

Earlier in the game, after he allowed a three-run homer to the D-backs’ Christian Walker, Rodón was whirling his glove around in the dugout and appeared to hit another innocent bystander.

He also made this wild play with his legs to end an inning.

He certainly wasn’t boring.
