With its’ back against the wall, can the 49ers rebound against a perennial AFC contender to go into it’s bye week with a win?

The San Francisco 49ers return to Levi’s Stadium for Week 8, hosting quarterback Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. They will look to bounce back from its’ second-straight loss, losing to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. A team that was once 5-0 to start the NFL season, now battle to stay amongst the contenders in the NFC entering its’ bye week.

Cincinnati has had a up-and-down 2023 season, as Burrow has dealt with a sprained calf for most of year. His ailments have lightened in recent games though, last beating the Seattle Seahawks, 17-13. Now coming off their own bye, Burrow and the Bengals head into San Francisco one week healthier.

The Red & Gold have dominated this matchup all-time, sporting a record of 13-4 since 1974. The 49ers historically won two Super Bowls over the Bengals (1982 and 1989). The player’s last meeting resulted in a thrilling overtime victory for the 49ers, 26-23, in 2021.

Now a few years wiser, both teams will look to put on a hotly-contested clash once more in Week 8 of the 2023 NFL season.

Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PST on Sunday, Oct. 29th, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
