How to watch 49ers v. Dolphins Week 13: TV channel, start time
Dec 3, 2022, 8:00 AM
After three months of the NFL regular season, the San Francisco 49ers sit atop the NFC West at 7-4. But only a game in front of the pesky Seattle Seahawks in the standings, now is the time to step your foot on the accelerator if you’re the Red & Gold.
Last week the 49ers made a statement defensively, holding the New Orleans Saints to a zero points in four quarters of football. It was the first time the Saints had been shutout since 2001, also losing to San Francisco, 38-0.
This week will be different however, with the Miami Dolphins and former offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel coming to Santa Clara. Thanks to a slew of offensive firepower, South Beach is riding a five-game win streak, dominating the Houston Texans, 30-15, in Week 12.
The familiarity makes the game sentimental to a degree, with both coaching staffs raving about the other in the build-up to Sunday. Including 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, who isn’t surprised by his former protégé’s success early on.
“No, it’s what we expected. He’s [Mike McDaniel] doing a great job with his personnel. Those two receivers [Miami Dolphins WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle], the speed they have and the good football players they are combined with the speed of [Miami Dolphins RB] Raheem [Mostert] and the way that [Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagavailoa] quarterback is playing, Tua is playing at an extremely high-level. He’s been doing it since the preseason, big time in week one and hasn’t fallen off at all and they’re doing a good job on defense too,” Shanahan said Wednesday to the media.
