How to Watch Sacramento Republic U.S. Open Cup Semifinal

It’s been a long and hot summer so far, but the moment every Sacramento Republic fan is looking forward to is here: The U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals.
Sacramento Republic FC will host MLS side Seattle Sounders FC July 9th at Heart Health Park in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals. This is the second time the Quails have reached the last eight of the historic competition in club history, last doing so in 2022 on their grounding-breaking run to The Open Cup Final. However, this is the first time HHP will play host to a Open Cup Quarterfinal match, with the Sacramento crowd expected to be rocking come Tuesday night.
But will The Sacramento Republic keep their run going? Or, will recent struggles in USL Championship play continue into cup competition?
“Yeah, look it’ll be nice to have a break from the league and focus on a Seattle Sounders team that’s one of the best in the country. You know, they’ll be coming here and they’ll have watched the game tonight and be licking their lips,” Republic coach Mark Briggs said in the lead-up to the match. “So, we’ve got to dust ourselves off, we’ve got to train hard, and we’ve got to learn from the mistakes we’re making. We’ve got to make sure that we turn up and we play like it means something and we play like we care. Because if we do that, we have a chance of reaching the semifinal. But if we don’t do that, it could be a really bad night.”
Magic of the Cup. ✨

Original Story:
Tickets for the Open Cup match become available to the general public at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6th. Republic FC season ticket holders will have first crack to secure seats, beginning today and ending Wednesday, June 5th. Groups of more than 10 people will also be allowed to purchase their seats before the general public.
The match will also be streamed live for free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, marking the first time Sacramento Republic have featured on that platform.
Sacramento Republic F.C. advanced to the competition’s semifinal after a dramatic 4-3 win over San Jose Earthquakes in the Quarterfinals. Down 3-2 entering the final 15 minutes of extra time, goals by Republic’s Luis Felipe and Sebastian Herrera snatched the victory away from the visitors, sending HHP into a frenzy.
While Seattle represents an even bigger challenge, the Quails have been indomitable on their home field. Sacramento holds a record of 19-1 in Open Cup play at home, hoping to turn Cal Expo into a fortress once more on July 9th.
