The Indianapolis Colts finished the 2021 season 9-8, second in the AFC South, and just barely missing the playoffs.

While they didn’t make as many splashy moves as some other NFL teams, there are some notable differences. Matt Ryan is now the quarterback after the team traded Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. On the defensive side, the team was able to make a couple of big moves. First, acquiring Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue in a trade and signing free agent Stephon Gilmore.

Matt Taylor, the voice of Colts radio since 2012, joined Cattles & Ramie on Thursday afternoon to discuss the Indianapolis Colts and preview the AFC South ahead of the 2022 NFL season.

Topics discussed include:

  • The Indianapolis Colts have started five different quarterbacks to start a season since 2018. Is Matt Ryan going to stick?
  • Is Matt Ryan’s age going to play a factor in his play?
  • Looking at the rest of the division, a playoff berth is possible for the Colts this year.
  • Behind the quarterback is Jonathan Taylor. How much of the offense goes through him?
  • Why there needs to be more balance to the offense
