Looking ahead to All-Star weekend, the Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson joined Sactown Sports 1140 Friday to talk about his trek out to Salt Lake City, the Kings’ success and if they can keep it going down the stretch. Plus, is Mike Brown the frontrunner to win Coach of the Year?

All that and more on Sactown Sports.

“In my mind, I have a hard time saying that Mike Brown is not the Coach of the Year right now,” Anderson said Friday on Sactown Sports. “He’s just been phenomenal. A lot of my conversations last night with people was [about] Mike Brown. And everywhere I go, like ‘Mike Brown has been great for them’ and the culture and the vibe. We’ve seen all the memes and we’ve seen all the clips and ‘turn on the jets’ and all these things that Mike’s done just to generate this energy within this organization have been fantastic for them. And I definitely think he’s going to be in the running. I would say there’s a very good likelihood he’s a finalist for Coach of the Year.”

Topics discussed include:

  • Can the Kings maintain the three seed in the Western Conference?
  • Can Kessler Edwards carve out a role on the roster?
  • Is Mike Brown the frontrunner for Coach of the Year?
  • What events he’s looking forward to the most in Salt Lake City
  • What has been the biggest surprise for the Kings this season?
